Star Wars fans rejoice! A new live-action television series set in the High Republic era is coming to Disney+. Titled "The Acolyte," the series is being developed by Leslye Headland, who previously worked on the Netflix series "Russian Doll."
The Acolyte will follow a young Padawan and her Jedi Master as they investigate a burgeoning dark force that threatens to consume the galaxy. The series will feature original characters, as well as some familiar faces from the Star Wars universe.
Amandla Stenberg has been cast as the Padawan, while Dafne Keen and Jodie Turner-Smith have been cast in undisclosed roles. The series is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
