The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce the Western Hockey League (WHL) debut of their 2022 third-overall pick, Cole Reschny. Reschny, a highly touted prospect, will join the team for the upcoming season.
Royals Acquire Deagan McMillan and Draft Picks
In a separate move, the Royals acquired forward Deagan McMillan and two draft picks from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for forward Austin Zemlak. McMillan, a skilled centerman, is expected to provide offensive depth to the Royals.
Reschny's Debut Eagerly Anticipated
Reschny, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound defenseman, is known for his physical play and offensive instincts. He was named the Western Hockey League's Top Prospect in 2022 and is expected to make an immediate impact with the Royals.
Strong Draft Class
The Royals also announced the selection of eleven players in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, including defenseman Justin Kipkie and forward Kalem Parker. Kipkie and Parker were both selected in the 2023 NHL Draft and are considered top prospects for the Royals.
The Royals are optimistic about the upcoming season with the addition of Reschny, McMillan, and their draft picks. The team is aiming to make a deep playoff run and compete for the WHL championship.
